New to Parkway? Discover who we are, our core beliefs, and our mission for our community.

At Parkway Church, all are welcome to attend, explore, and participate in taking steps of faith toward Christ. We do not claim to have all the answers. We do claim, however, that all the answers can be found in the person of Jesus.
Our vision is to see our community truly transformed by the love of Christ, as God’s Kingdom comes in real and tangible ways, healing what’s broken, restoring what’s been lost, and drawing people into a life-giving relationship with Jesus.

Our Journey begin with a little church in courtright called Riverside Pentecostal Church. This community of believers met for years before Parkway Church was planted and established.

On July 23, 1989, the early Parkway family gathered for a sod-turning and dedicated the land to the Lord. Pastor David Rutledge led the moment in prayer, joined by supporters from the region and the wider Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada family, including Bethel Pentecostal Church. It was a simple step of obedience that marked the beginning of something meant to impact the community.

By 1990, the church was completed and we were firmly planted in Corunna. From that point on, we were not just meeting, we were building a church family centred on Jesus, grounded in prayer, and committed to seeing lives transformed.

In 2011, we launched a major addition project called For Such a Time as This, nearly doubling our square footage. We expanded to strengthen ministry, invest in the next generation, and create more space for community. The project added a large children’s wing with three classrooms, a large community centre room, two new bathrooms, a café, a commercial kitchen and additional office space.

Today, we are a church rooted in St. Clair Township with a clear mission. We want to see our community transformed by the love of Christ.
Looking ahead, our goal is bold and focused. We are believing for at least 10% of our community to give their lives to Christ, and we are committed to doing the work with faith, prayer, and Spirit-led ministry.

We believe in one personal God who exists eternally in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in power, authority and glory.
We believe Jesus Christ to be the virgin-born Son of God who lived in flesh, died for the sins of the world, was buried, rose again bodily, and ascended to the Father.
We believe in the Holy Spirit who regenerates and indwells every believer in Jesus, assures us of our salvation, guides us into all truth, glorifies Jesus and convicts of sin, righteousness and judgment. He comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and empowers us for service.
We believe that the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error.
We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross, provides the only way for the forgiveness of sin. God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation cannot be earned, it is a gift from God.
We believe in the personal, visible return of Christ to the earth and the establishing of His Kingdom, in the resurrection of the body, and the final judgment. We believe that our eternal destination of either heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Carl and Jodi Patterson came to Parkway Church in the spring of 2019. They have a heart to help people discover God's purpose for their lives, reach their God-given potential, and live life with intentionality. Pastor Carl loves preaching Jesus and helping others encounter God’s presence.
